For schools

What's happening across the school, and who's on it?

The school portal gives the principal, finance, admissions and the front office one record to work from, with the exceptions first.

The school portal opens as Mrs Naidoo, principal of Riverside House School.

What it does

  • One record for each job

A trip holds its learners, consent, payments and staff, and everyone reads the same facts.

  • Notices with follow-through

Sent, opened and acted on are kept apart, so you can see who still needs a reminder.

  • Money that adds up

Charges, payments and allocations are kept apart. A started payment never shows as paid.

What to expect

Each school sets its own rules: who can send to the whole school, who releases results, who approves honours and which modules are switched on.

Slooch works next to the systems a school already runs. Riverside House sends its returns to SA-SAMS and keeps its books in Xero, and the office decides what's official.

School pages

A page and an address for every school

Every school gets its own address, name.slooch.app, and a page built from its own record: name, crest, colours, welcome, town and office contact. Families start there, then sign in and see only their own school.

Getting started

How a school starts on Slooch

  1. A first conversation

We meet the principal and the office to see how the school runs today.

  2. Your records come across

Learner, family and staff lists come from SA-SAMS or a spreadsheet, and the office checks them.

  3. Your rules go in

Terms, bell times and who may send, approve and release are set before anyone signs in.

  4. Families are invited

Each family gets a letter or SMS with the school code and a link code for each child.

  5. Live, a grade at a time

A school can start with one grade and add the rest when the office is ready.

Privacy and POPIA

How Slooch treats school data

Read the privacy notice

The school stays the responsible party under POPIA. Slooch processes learner and family information on the school's behalf, under an operator agreement the school signs before any records are loaded.

The permanent service will be hosted in South Africa. The site you're on holds only fictional schools and people, so no real records are involved.

Access follows role and relationship. A teacher sees their own classes, a parent their own children and the finance office its accounts, and every change keeps a record of who made it.

Learner records aren't used to train AI models. Anything Slooch suggests is labelled as a suggestion until a named person approves it.

Talk to us about your school

Tell us how your school runs today. We'll walk through the same week on Slooch with your principal, a teacher and the office.
