Help with Slooch
Answers for parents, learners and staff at schools on Slooch. Questions about your child's records go to the school office, which can see them.
Try sign in, code, link or notifications.
Signing in
How do I sign in?
Enter the cellphone number or email address your school has for you. Slooch sends a six-digit code; type it in and you're signed in. There's no password to remember.
My number isn't recognised
The school doesn't have that number yet, or has a different one. Try your other number or email address, or ask the school office to update your details.
The code didn't arrive
Wait 30 seconds and tap Resend, or choose Send by WhatsApp. If it still doesn't come, call the school office; they can check the number on your record.
How do learners sign in?
With their learner code and the PIN from their class teacher. Learners under 13 get their code through a parent's phone.
Linking a child
How do I link my child?
Your school sends a letter or SMS with a link code for each child. In the parent app, open More, then Link a child, and enter the code. The office confirms the link before anything about your child appears.
Can both parents link the same child?
Yes. Each guardian links with their own number. What you can see and do for a child, such as consent, fees and collection, is set by the school and shown under More, then Account.
I've lost the link code
Ask the school office for a new one. Old codes stop working once a new code is issued.
Notifications
What will Slooch notify me about?
Things you need to act on, like a consent form or a payment, and the updates you choose in settings. Safety and emergency alerts from the school are always sent.
Why don't notifications show marks or balances?
Anyone can see a lock screen. Previews say that a private update is available, and the details open only inside the app.
Can I get SMS or WhatsApp messages instead?
For urgent notices and money matters, yes. Turn them on in the parent app under More, then Notifications.
Contact your school office
The office can update your number, issue a new link code and answer anything about your child's records.
